Supporting Others to Be Safe Online, Thursday 20th, Online

Everyone worries about staying safe online but some disabled people tell us they experience extra challenges.

Disabled people can sometimes face unique challenges when it comes to staying safe online. This online webinar delivered by an expert from Lead Scotland is aimed at practitioners and will give advice on supporting others to become more cyber resilient.

During this one hour session, you’ll learn about:

Passwords
Internet scams
Fake emails
Reporting scams
Accessing further support

The session will focus on how disabled people can overcome barriers which affect online accessibility or how to balance conflicting demands (e.g., unique, strong passwords for people with memory loss) in the most accessible manner. Focus will also be on simple, easy to remember rules for keeping safe online.

You will join our session leader on the online platform GoToMeeting and listen to his presentation as well as have a chance to ask questions in real time. A link to this meeting will be sent nearer the time.

Do you have any accessibility requirements or any questions about his event? Please contact enquiries@lead.org.uk or call us at 0131 228 9441.
